Santiago de Cuba even before Santiago de Cuba
Back in 2011, I was utterly enchanted by the rhythms of Giles Peterson and the spellbinding sounds of the Buena Vista Social Club. Imagine my surprise when, a year later, I fell in love, married, and had a child with a woman from Santiago de Cuba, the cradle of the Son genre. Life sure knows how to hit the high notes of irony!
This visual identity concept showcases my DJ/Music producer self, aimed at capturing and innovating the sonic brilliance of artists like Giles Peterson. The name Ramalho echoes another kind of music, one that resonates deeply in my heart, representing the family that adopted me at the age of 4 in 1986, in my cherished hometown of Porto, Portugal.
